I'm trying to open a (freeby) yahoo email account with a groovy type name, and am having a small difficulty in registering all the details.

I accessed www.yahoo.com, and followed the directions to the 2 boxes Select Title and Select Specialism. There's a little arrow you click on, which should theoretically provide a list of options, but it just comes up blank, and you can't slip anything in.

It's a real drag, because I set my heart on having that groovy name.

If I can solve this, I'll post it here, so maybe people will send like funny bits and pieces, and say hello from around the world, and just do kind of fun, hip internet stuff, to help relieve the boredom of my sad computer peripheral existence.

Just had a quick look at yahoo, the drop downs are all working except title and specialization, and as soon as you put in your industry they appear.

Thanks for the feed-back, however I've been back and entered my industry, but select title and specialism still come down blank and you can't type anything in.
Must be my karma for being flippant.
I couldn't log on here either just before, and had to resort to Anthony2 again.
Hmm.. bizarre.

Wouldn't be using a pc with internet explorer?

You did try re-booting yeah?

Try another browser like mozilla or opera.

If that still f**cks up, reckon you might need to clean up your operating system.

Yes, I do use Internet Explorer, Ham.. I was advised to use that instead of Netscape some months back. Now I can't use IE to post on here or AAA.

I'm going to leave all this overnight now, as I'm really sh***ed out and must make some ZZZZ's.

bin ich gut gerutscht gewesen, wobei das klingt irgendwie pervers. Natürlich würde ich von dir nicht weniger erwarten. Eigentlich sind wir zuhause geblieben, um den Feuerwerks zu entkommen – aber war super schön! Und selber?

I've checked Netscape, and it all flowed supersmoothly until the final page, when it stuck for ages, till I just chucked it in.

If I try it again, it might tell me my great name has already been taken by someone else (i.e. me the last time). What a pisser.

I don't understand when I get the details to feed into my server, for the incoming and outgoing post boxes, etc.

I might mail you later, Dan. That German expression came from an Austrian barmaid after New Year, who shouted it to me across a crowded room, so it obviously got mangled in the process.

Does it have to be Yahoo? That's a confederate rebel yell anyway. I like my hell.com account. It's tré mysterious and cool and people think I'm evil.

Anyway, just cause I like you , I just set up an account on Yahoo. I am now the proud owner of the email address slokypoky@yahoo.co.uk

The specialism thing didn't work with me either but I could set up the account anyway. If you want, tell me what you want to call yourself and I can set it up for you. You can certainly change the password afterwards. I can send it to you all secret like in a private post.
