I would tell your instructor about what you saw on the internet and see what he says.  You can also go to other schools and take a lesson or two and compare it to the training that you recive at OYD.  Then judge for yourself on how the train affects you.  Then make the judgement on how much training you want if any at all.  Also have you used the herb and equipment.  If so what has your experience been?

:=Dear Ronin, Cathy, and others. := :=I am interested in starting a marital arts work out program (beginner at almost age 50) and am just beginning to learn what's in my area. I have attended a few Oom Yung Doe classes but I'm concerned about some web stories I've read about the Grand Master (tax fraud and prison) and the high prices. Any scoop you can send my way would be helpful (regarding true organizational culture of the school and it's instructors). := :=The price is more than double and I'm thinking for half the price I might go to a local school that Dan Inosanto teaches at for Kung Fu and JKD, and/or a Yuang Tai Chi school for Tai Chi. :=I'd hate to get into any school that has some fundemental issues that would concern me (at soem future point) in the approach to teaching - such as nonsense about contracts and high prices. It would feel like I'm always looking over my shoulder waiting for teh other shoe to hit (sales pitch). I'm thinking just the idea of the double price is enough of a message. let alone the history of a convict as Grand Master. . . but I do like the local instructor so far. . .thoughts?
