I've trained in a "rogue school" where much has been positive.  However, I've come to the conclusion that what we're being taught is not validated by the martial arts experience of others and unfortunately the "rigidity" that is sometimes incorporated into protocol unwittingly is still perpetuating the cult-like aspects of OYD at its worse.  It's been hard because I do care about some of the instructors and also feel they are not willing to truly investigate and change to save the good and find what's better to teach students.
