You need legal advice. You may be stuck (for godsakes, "cannot be cancelled for any reason" should have been a wake-up call). On the other hand, "cannot be cancelled for any reason" could be evidence of what's called an "adhesion" contract, meaning a contract prepared by a strong party (a business) to be signed by a weaker party (a consumer) who has to "take-it-or-leave-it," and the contract is obviously imbalanced in favor of the strong party. But IANAL (I am not a lawyer). Even if it costs $1,000 to hire a lawyer, that's cheaper than being on the hook for $9,500. Certainly you could complain to your local government agency that handles consumer complaints before having to resort to a lawyer--maybe that would do the trick. Good Luck |
