Not so strange and no real problems. As I have recently left JYMS and wish to focus more on the Kung Fu systems I have begun training so that I can claim a solid lineage rather than bits and pieces that have been passed on through JYMS. Generally, in the system I am studying, permission to teach under my instructors lineage is not granted until a certain, rather large, portion of the system has been completed. While my training is progressing at an accelerated pace, due to my previous training, I am no "Superman" and it will take me a bit of time to reach this level. In the meantime, in light of what I am trying to accomplish (completely convert from JYMS forms to BSL) I have been encouraged to begin teaching the forms that I have learnt. This not only benefits the students but greatly aids my learning, understanding and refinement of the forms. Once I have completed enough of the system to be certified teach under my instructor’s lineage, I will begin to "advertise" as such and teach the complete system rather than just the forms. Until then I have agreed not to.
