If Dr Sun had continued to live to maintain the CPC-KMT co-operation and prevent the Chinese civil war , perhaps China may have reunified and rejuvenated with a bi-party political democracy whereby the CPC may be the Democrats and the KMT may be the Republicans in the governmental branch of executive and legislature ; perhaps the CPC and KMT may have co-operate as political competitor to implement a free and democratic political system ; the CPC and KMT may have compete and deliberate for the best national and people interest , and continue reform , development , stability , unity and prosperity .

If Dr sun had live longer , perhaps Dr Sun may have implemented his three people principles and perhaps rejuvenate China , by refining the US and Soviet experience , and become a democratic and developed country .

After the passing of Dr Sun in 1925 , China lost 53 years to civil war ; anti-Japanese war ; political infighting ; internal turmoil and external threat ; political , economic and social chaos ; Cultural revolution , Great Leap Forward and Anti-rightist movement ; man-made disaster ; isolation until 1978 when Paramount Leader Deng implement opening up policy , adopt socialism , and absorb free and competitive market economy .

It is reported that , after WW2 , US President Roosevelt may have offered Vietnam to Chiang Gong but Chiang Gong may have decline the offer citing the reason that the Vietnamese are not Chinese and they will not be sinicized .

In a dictatorship , the ruling party is likely to choose party interest over national and people interest .

In a democracy , as there is political competition among the party interest and political supervision among the parties , thus political competition and supervision will gravitate the parities to compete and deliberate for the best national and people interest as to achieve competing party interest .

Thus , a free and democratic political system with political competition and supervision , and balance and separation of power will foster creative , balanced , paradoxical , conciliatory , alternative , safe and sound policy and governance with efficiency , qualification and incorruptibility ideally .

In a dictatorship , the ruling party will achieve rule of man by law .
In a democracy , the ruling party will achieve rule by man of law .

Democracy is a stage in political evolution .
If the timing of democracy is wrong , the ruling party will lose the decisiveness and initiative to continue reform , development , stability , unity and prosperity .
Time is a essential ingredient to evolve the best democracy so as to protect reform , development , stability , unity and prosperity .
The democracy of the US took a long time to evolve to its present form .

The CPC startup later than the KMT .
When the CPC developed into a political competitor to KMT , the CPC and KMT start a civil war .
Towards the end of civil war , the CPC seek the backing of Soviet and the KMT seek backing of the US .

When the civil war situation tilted in favor of the CPC , there may be a opportunities for the CPC to persuade the KMT to co-operate as political competitor so as to implement a bi-party political democracy .

When the Japanese invaded northeastern provinces , Chiang Gong ordered General Zhang Xueliang to withdraw from northeastern provinces .

Chiang Gong intended to defeat the CPC first before defeating the Japanese invader .

The KMT did not lose the war to the CPC .

If the KMT had love the people , the KMT may not have lost the war .

Ever since the CPC develop into a political competitor to the KMT , there may begin to have initiative and opportunities for the KMT to persuade the CPC to co-operate as political competitor to implement a bi-party political democracy .

Taiwan democracy demonstrated to the Chinese that democracy is compatible with Chinese .
In the choice between national and party interest , the KMT has chosen national interest over party interest in implementing democracy .

President Chiang Chingkuo , President Lee Tenghui , Preident Chen Shuibian and Vice President Lu Xiulian should be honored and credited for their democratic achievements and contribution for Chinese democracy .
Paramount Leader Deng Xiaoping , President Jiang Zemin and Premier Zhu Rongji should also be honored and credited for their democratic achievement and contribution for Chinese democracy .

The Chinese are master of their destiny .

Both Chairman Mao and Chiang Gong are great and talented political and military leader and strategist .
But they are unable to accommodate and co-operate as political competitor to compete and deliberate for the best national and people interest .
