These engines are failing all over the country. What makes it worse, is that even if you buy a new engine it will fail. Mine blew up with 50K on it. It cost over 6000 to fix. There is only one place in the country to buy a new motor for these cars that may not fail. That place is JASPER Motors. They build NASCAR engines. They also have determined that these motors are prone to failure due to the poor design of several major parts. If you look under your oil cap you will find sludge. I know you will find it because the car is smoking. if you read your warranty you will find that if they find sludge the warranty is void. Sludge is normally caused byb running the car low on oil or not changingh the oil. This is usually a sign you have not taken care of your car. Thats why sludge voids the warranty. In this case, the design of the oil supply pick up tube is restricting oil flow to the top of the motor. Because you do not have enough oil circulating, the oil that is circulating is being oevrheated and thus burning, causing sludge. There appears to be many of us out here with the same problem. Check out my other posting on this site. Also, If you e-mail me nautical28@excite.com I will give you my phone number and go into better details. Chrystler has burnt us all.
